Spring is here to greet you

Spring is here and it looks like it's going to be a beautiful season filled with lots of outdoor color. I know I can't wait to get out into the garden and start the spring clean up. When you rake up your leaves, you might want to consider creating a compost pile if you don't already have one. It's a great way to add nutrient rich soil to your garden. When raking, be careful of your perennial plants coming up under the leaves, rake gently to expose the new growth. Snowdrops, crocus and hellebore are already coming up. Don't rush to plant anything yet, I know it's hard to resist the temptation to plant color but you can plant pansies, they don't mind the cold and will take a little snowfall like a trooper.
